High School Fall Tryouts

Are you interested in participating in any high school athletics this fall? Make sure you don’t miss the upcoming tryout dates!

 

HS Cross Country will start practicing July 26th at 6:30am at Dr. O. Roi Hardy Park, in Riverton.  Everyone makes the team, so come out and start running!  Contact Coach Brown at Silverj220@gmail.com with any questions.

 

HS Boys Baseball Tryouts will be July 26th at Galena Hills Park from 5pm-6:30pm.  Please bring your equipment and water.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Sauer at ssauer33@yahoo.com.

 

HS Girls Soccer Tryouts will be July 26th from 5pm-6:30pm at the HS soccer field. Please bring your soccer gear and water.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Lockwood at jlockwood76@hotmail.com

 

HS Boys Golf Tryouts will be held on the following dates, please contact Head Coach Jordan Bloxham at jbloxham@apamail.org for more information.

HS Girls Volleyball Tryouts will be held on August 2nd from 5pm-7pm.  Please bring volleyball shoes, knee pads, water, a light snack, and a positive attitude!  If you have any questions please email Coach Evans at Tevans@apamail.org.

 

HS Girls Tennis Tryouts will be held on August 17th from 3:30pm-5:30pm at the South Jordan Tennis courts.  Please bring water and a tennis racquet (if you have one).  If you have any questions please contact Coach Prevette at mprevette@apamail.org.

Ballroom Team Workshop

Interested in being on the ballroom team next year?  Want to know more before you commit? Come to our Ballroom Team Workshop!  Wed. May 26th 2:00-3:30 pm in the MPR.  Meet the team and see them perform, learn a fun mini-routine, find out how you can fit ballroom into your schedule, and get some tips on how to prepare for auditions in the Fall.  No partner or experience necessary.  Dress in comfortable APA-style clothing with shoes you can move in.  Hope to see you then!

Junior High Spelling Bee

We will be holding a Spelling Bee for our 7th and 8th grade students here at D3. The first round of the Spelling Bee will be held on February 9th, during English classes. The final round of the school Spelling Bee, which will include the top spellers from the first round, will be held on February 24th, from 2pm-4pm, at the school. One or two parents/family members can attend if their student makes it into the final round. Below are two important study guides for the students to study in order to prepare themselves:

Constitution Day

This Thursday, American Prep will live stream the reading of our nation’s Constitution from each of our six campuses throughout the school day.

 

To commemorate the September 17, 1787 signing of the United States Constitution, Congress designated September 17th of each year as Constitution Day, requiring that “each educational institution that receives Federal Funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution.” For American Prep, this is an important event for our students and community.

 

Carolyn Sharette, Executive Director, said, “We invite all members of our community to join our live stream at live.ksl.com and Read the Constitution! with us. It will be a great day to read and reflect on the foundations of our nation.”

 

Each of the following American Prep campuses will be live for one hour during the schedule listed below.

8 am – Draper 3 – 7th – 12th grades

9 am – Salem – Kindergarten – 9th grades

10 am – Draper 2 – Kindergarten – 6th grades

11 am – West Valley 1 – Kindergarten – 6th grades

12 pm – Draper 1 – Kindergarten – 6th grades

1 pm – West Valley 2 – Kindergarten – 12th grades

 

We invite all families to read the Constitution together this week and discuss the noble principles upon which our nation’s laws are based. We believe that by becoming more knowledgeable about our country’s laws, we can respectfully debate and participate in advancing the noble cause of freedom, prosperity, and peace.

Course Registration for 2020-2021 School Year

Attention to all D3 families, including new incoming 7th graders and parents:
To assist in distributing the links to the course registration forms for students we have included them both on our FB and our D3 Webpage.  Please note there are two distinct links, one for JH course selections and one for HS course selections.  This is not enrollment, that was a separate online form. This is a student form to fill out indicating which courses they want to take next year.  The form must be filled out via the student’s email account. Thus, please ensure that before you click on the respective link below that you or your student are signed into their account on your web browser. Students fill out the appropriate form based on what year they will be in NEXT year (SY 2020-2021).
