Saturday School October 1st & October 8th

Saturday School is scheduled for 2 Saturdays towards the end of each term. As these dates become available, they will be posted on our Draper 3 website calendar and included in our weekly newsletter.

How do I know if I have Saturday School?

Login to Skyward to see if you have an “NC” grade for any of your classes. Check your attendance to see how many tardies you have for the term. You are given 3 “freebies” per class/per term (4 or more tardies count towards Saturday School).

Now what do I need to know?

  • Each tardy is $5/30 minutes
  • Prepayment is required and must be paid at the HS/JH Office by the end of school each Friday before Saturday School. Cash or Credit Card is accepted.
  • No payments will be accepted on the day of Saturday School.
  • Please arrive 10-15 mins early to check in (6:45 am-6:55 am).
  • Saturday School starts promptly at 7:00 am. Students who arrive late (7 am or later) will be asked to return on the next available Saturday School date.
  • No food or electronics will be allowed. A water bottle is acceptable.
  • Arrive Prepared!! Students can 1. work on homework or 2. read a book.
  • Must be in FULL Monday-Thursday uniform, including their name tag.
  • NC will not be removed until hours and fees have been paid
  • Students not following rules will call home to be picked up and will be asked to return on the next scheduled date. No credit will be given.

Is Saturday School every Saturday?

No. Two to three dates are scheduled for Saturday School toward the end of each term. Look in our Newsletters, our calendar, and the bulletin boards located by the HS/JH Front Office for these dates.

12th Grade United Way Day of Caring

For this year’s 12th Grade United Way Day of Caring, American Prep had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Stitching Hearts. Stitching Hearts is a non-profit that is devoted to helping people in need of blankets, sleeping mats, and even pillows. The Draper APA senior class had the experience of creating sleeping mats for the people of Ukraine. They did so by weaving together plastic grocery bags. The results of this project were phenomenal! Coed Competitive Cheerleading Sign-Ups

All 7th-12th grade students that are interested in competing on the Draper APA Coed Competitive Cheerleading team need to fill out this Google form by Monday, September 6th. Interested students should also plan on attending the first day of cheerleading clinics on Saturday, September 11th, from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. (*Please note that clinics may be cancelled if we do not have enough students sign-up on the Google form.) Please email llajeunesse@apamail.org with any questions.

 

Junior High Fall Tryouts

 

Draper APA 8th, 7th, and 6th grade Team Tryouts are around the corner!  The Fall sports that are offered this year will be Boys soccer and Girls volleyball.

 

Girls Volleyball tryouts will be held on August 24th, and  will be in the D2 gym starting at 3:30pm (please use the West doors to enter the gym, but not until 3:30pm).  Tryouts will go until 4:30pm.  Bring water and your shoes and clothes to play in.

 

Boys Soccer tryouts will be held on August 24th also, at 3:30 pm pm on the HS soccer field.  Tryouts should be over by 5pm.  Bring water and your shoes and clothes to play in.

 

Cross-Country has been moved to the Spring, so look for that information to come out in February!

 

If you want to get a jump on basketball, you can join the Eagles basketball club!  These teams play year round, if you want, and the grades are 1st – 12th grade (teams are divided into grade levels).  They have tryouts coming up on the 28th of August.  Click here for additional information.

High School Fall Tryouts

Are you interested in participating in any high school athletics this fall? Make sure you don’t miss the upcoming tryout dates!

 

HS Cross Country will start practicing July 26th at 6:30am at Dr. O. Roi Hardy Park, in Riverton.  Everyone makes the team, so come out and start running!  Contact Coach Brown at Silverj220@gmail.com with any questions.

Ballroom Team Workshop

Interested in being on the ballroom team next year?  Want to know more before you commit? Come to our Ballroom Team Workshop!  Wed. May 26th 2:00-3:30 pm in the MPR.  Meet the team and see them perform, learn a fun mini-routine, find out how you can fit ballroom into your schedule, and get some tips on how to prepare for auditions in the Fall.  No partner or experience necessary.  Dress in comfortable APA-style clothing with shoes you can move in.  Hope to see you then!
